Are shampoo and conditioner brands really that different?

Even like, different style types within the same brand (like ones for frizzy hair compared to dry hair, or red head etc.) are they really that different chemically? And what about kid's shampoos? What is so special about them? Would they possibly be better for hair? Are shampoo and conditioner brands really that different?
Going from brand to brand really does make a difference, it just depends on the person and what they need! One brand that will work wonders for one person might not be that great for another.

Also, my biggest piece of advice is invest in proffesional shampoos and conditioner. They are a bit more expensive but really make such a difference on your hair, and they are higher quality so they don't do as much damage!

But yeah i would say when you have one brand that has a million different types of shampoo...they aren't that different, it's mostly for marketing. Like the shampoos designated for straight or curly hair...i don't think do much.

Go professional, talk to someone at the salon and tell them what you need and they will help you find what's right for you. And try a few different ones and experiment till you find the one that's best. Are shampoo and conditioner brands really that different?
Read the contents on the ones you find in stores and you'll see they are all ruffly the same. In fact the main detergent in shampoos is also the main detergent in all liquid hand soaps.

The ones you get via salons are a little different, but finding one that works for you can be expensive. Most of them go for $20 + a pop. And matrix and biolage did nothing for my hair. Nexxus change the formula on the conditioner I was using and doesn't work for me anymore either. I get mine form discount salons and only when they are on sale. I like the conditioners with shea butter but they are only for people with really dry hair like me.
I have bought kids shampo for my kiddos and when I ran out used it, and it made my hair nasty and greasy! But as far as the same brand but for different things then no not much difference, but if your talking are some brands better than others yes there is a huge difference! My mom likes to save money and when I visit she only has suave it makes my hair yucky!! I use panteene but get bored and switch out with a different brand, but if your hair is oily dont go for the moisterizing versions because it will make your hair lanky.
yes!!! i use pureology its a little expensive but its totally worth it... most shampoos and conditioners have 7% salt in them.... THE OCEAN ONLY HAS 2% SALT! salt is bad and pureology doesn't have any salt and its 100% vegan... made with natural organic botanicals... not all shampoos and conditioners are made for color treated hair either... i also use REDKEN shampoo and conditioner and every shampoo and conditioner has different ingredients in them such as olive oil, avocado oil, mica crystals to crystallize blondes... i could go on and on... check out the different brands websites and see what ingredients they have and what they have to offer.
Actually they differ alot u may think of ill just get this one but they do differ... stuff for dry hair has a hydrating formula in it to give ur hair what it needs and stuff for red heads has a tinting solution in it to keep hair red and shiny. the little kid stuff is a lighter much simpler shampoo it does not hair a childs thin thin hair. they do differ alot though
i think diff. shampoos might def. have different chemicals in order to weigh your hair down or other things like

personally whenever i use garnier fructis long and strong my hair grows much quicker than with other ones

i dont think its very different but i think there are still little things that help deal with your certain situation
I heard that when you color your hair you should look for a shampoo that doesnt have sulfer in it because it strips the color. So yea I think there is a difference chemically. Kids shampoo is also different because of the no tear agent.
Not really, but some may leave hair feeling heavier. kids shampoos might have different stuff so it doesn't sting eyes.
